Precautions for using screw barrels
Jun 19, 2024
The main precautions for using screw barrels are as follows:
1. Matching between screw and barrel: When using a screw barrel, attention should be paid to the matching between the barrel and the screw. Especially for corrosive or hard materials such as PVC, flame retardant materials, or materials containing fiberglass, professional screws should be used to avoid using ordinary screws.
2. Preheating and insulation: Before starting the injection molding machine, it is necessary to ensure that the screw barrel reaches the preset temperature. The insulation time varies for screw barrels of different sizes. For example, after the screw cylinder with a diameter of less than 60mm reaches the preset temperature, it needs to be continuously insulated for another 15 minutes; However, larger screw barrels require 30 minutes before starting the motor to initiate screw related actions.
3. Prevent foreign objects from falling into the hopper: During use, metal fragments and debris should be avoided from falling into the hopper to prevent damage to the screw and barrel. If processing recycled materials, a magnetic hopper needs to be added to prevent iron filings from entering the material barrel.
4. Precautions for using anti saliva: When using anti saliva, ensure that the plastic inside the barrel has melted to prevent damage to the transmission system parts when the screw moves back. In addition, phenomena such as screw idling and slipping should also be avoided.
