Application of Screw Barrel

 

Application in rubber processing
In the rubber extruder, the screw barrel also undertakes the processing task of rubber raw materials. The rubber screw rotates and extrude the material in the barrel of the rubber extruder. The long-term friction between the screw, barrel and material will inevitably cause wear of the barrel and screw. Although wear is inevitable, the normal operation of the screw barrel is very critical for the mixing and extrusion molding of rubber. For example, when producing rubber products such as rubber sealing strips and rubber tires, the screw barrel mixes, plasticizes and extrude the rubber raw materials into the desired shape. Moreover, due to the characteristics of the rubber raw materials, such as high elasticity and viscosity, the design and operation requirements of the screw barrel are also different, such as requiring a larger torque to drive the screw to rotate.

 

Uses in processing other materials
In addition to plastics and rubber, screw barrels are also used in the processing of some other materials. For example, when processing mixed raw materials containing ceramic powder, aluminum magnesium powder, iron powder and other powder materials and plastics, the screw barrel can evenly mix these mixed raw materials so that the powder materials are evenly distributed in the plastic matrix to produce composite products with special properties.
