How to maintain a single screw barrel

The single screw barrel is a screw with a fixed groove depth. In addition to its main functions of mixing, melt output transmission and measurement, it should also provide sufficient pressure to maintain uniform melt temperature and stabilize the flow of melt plastic. Measure the length of the line segment, and the mixing effect is very good. If the metering section is too long, the melt will stay for too long, which is prone to pyrolysis. If it is too short, it is easy to make the temperature uneven.


1. Since the electrical control system has high requirements for ambient temperature and dust prevention, the electrical system should be isolated from the production site, and ventilation or exhaust fans should be installed. It is recommended to place the electrical control cabinet in a simple room to keep the room clean and ventilated, so that the indoor temperature is not higher than 40℃.


2. Single screw extruders are not allowed to run empty to avoid screw and machine rolling. When starting the main engine, it is not allowed to exceed 100r/min when idling; start the main engine at a low speed first, check for abnormal noise after starting the main engine, and then slowly increase the main engine speed to within the process allowable range (it is better to adjust to a better state). When the new machine is running in, the current load should be 60-70%, and the current during normal use should not exceed 90%. Note: If an abnormal sound occurs during the operation of the extruder, it should be stopped immediately for inspection or repair.


3. Turn on the oil pump first when starting the machine, and turn off the oil pump after shutting down the machine; the water pump should be kept in working condition during the entire production process, and the operation of the water pump should not be stopped to prevent the barrel temperature from rising and causing the material in the barrel to decompose and carbonize; the asbestos wind cover of the main motor fan should be cleaned frequently to avoid excessive dust adhesion and clogging the wind cover, resulting in insufficient heat dissipation of the motor and tripping due to overheating.


4. Clean the dust, tools and debris on the surface of the unit in time.


5. Prevent metal or other debris from falling into the hopper to avoid damaging the screw and barrel. To prevent iron debris from entering the barrel, a magnetic attraction component or magnetic frame can be installed at the material feeding port where the material enters the barrel. To prevent debris from falling into the barrel, the material must be screened in advance.


6. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the production environment, and do not allow garbage impurities to mix into the material to block the filter plate, which will affect the product output, quality and increase the resistance of the machine head.


7. The reducer should use the lubricating oil specified in the machine manual and add oil according to the specified oil level. Too little oil will result in insufficient lubrication and reduce the service life of parts. Too much oil will cause high heat generation, high energy consumption, and easy deterioration of the oil, which will also cause lubrication failure and damage parts. The sealing gasket (ring) should be replaced in time at the oil leakage part of the reducer to ensure the amount of lubricating oil.
